It is primarily used for grinding high-precision planes, inner and outer cylindrical surfaces, conical surfaces, spherical surfaces, thread surfaces, and other profiles on workpieces. WebCylindrical lapping is a subgroup of lapping and is based on the same technique. The difference is that other kinematics than classical lapping with planetary kinematics are used. The cylindrical work pieces are processed on the outer surface. The work pieces are cylindrical and run between two rollers.
