WebJun 1, 2010 · Actually, I think the DatePicker's behavior is appropriate. The SelectedDate property refers to the value of the DatePicker, the DisplayDate refers to the date selected in Calendar. The SelectedDate is of type DateTime? , the DisplayDate is of type DateTime. Therefore, the former can be null and it will display "Select a Date".
